The week,
we are with Nate. He’s a new artist, and has only been around for about a
year, but his first album was a major success and he is soon to release his
second – which contains songs that don’t even conform to a genre. We met up
with Nathan a week ago, and here is what he had to say.
So Nate, what do you think of the music business?
So, the
music business, it’s something I am so glad I have got into. It’s full of
talent already, and to add to that talent it’s just great. I enjoy what I do, and
my songs have a meaning, they’re not just made up. Take my first album, for
example, that was all about my life at the time – but how what was going on in
my life may be similar to many other people. The new album is also about my
life, but a different part of it… it’s how the music industry affects my life,
but also everyone’s. After all, music is a very important part of people’s
lives, not just those that make it.
Your new
album, can you give us any details?
Well, for a
start, I can tell you that I have put a lot of effort into this album. It’s
taken 6 months to make – I literally just released my debut album and
immediately started work on this album. Another thing I can tell you is that it
has been just as enjoyable to make, even more so, than my debut. For example,
as my new album is about music itself – what it means to me and what it means
to everyone else – there is no one genre in the album. It doesn’t fit into a
category like that. And it has allowed me, as a musical artist, to experiment with
other genres. This in itself has been an extremely interesting and enjoyable
thing for me to do, it allows me to expand my music in the future. It allows me
to experience more of the music business that is so important to me, as an
artist.
Well then, when
does it come out?
I can’t
really divulge that information quite at this stage – I can’t even tell you the
name yet, but what I can say is that it will be out before August. I’m planning
my first tour in August – which I am really looking forward to – and it’ll be
out before then. I want the tour to be focused on both my debut and this album.
How about
the tour, can you tell us any more?
Well, the
tour is going to be focused on both the debut album and my new album. And, it’s
particularly related to the second album – as the tour will show people’s
interaction with music. And this is all a part of the album itself. The tour will be across Europe, starting and ending in
Birmingham with London being second and second last. Every city that is visited
will have two dates, to allow fans the most chance to see me in concert.
