Page Furniture


Page furniture is used to fill up the page and also pull the reader into the article. It includes drop caps (large letters at the start of the article), pull quotes which are could be taken from the article, captions either for images or explaining what the article may be about, headings - give the reader an idea what the article is about at a quick glance.

Examples of page furniture include pull quotes, drop caps, folio/slugs, info bars, caption, headings, bylines, call outs and more.

Folio: Information such as the date, page number, magazine name.
Info Bar: Information about the subject of the article - artist, album, gig.
Caption: Gives some extra information about the article, quickly.
Drop cap: Draws attention to the next and fills up space.
Heading: Attracts the reader to the article.
